What you need to know

If these walls could talk, they would certainly have some stories to tell... Here's a quick history lesson: Built in 1893, Battersea Arts Centre (BAC) has played host to some fascinating people over its time. Once a focal point in the early days of the Trades Union Movement and the campaign for Women's Suffrage - Christabel and Emmeline Pankhurst and Charlotte Despard presided over meetings in the Town Hall. London's first black Mayor, John Archer was even elected here in 1913. The building was then threatened with demolition in 1965, resulting in its Grade II listing in 1970 where it then went on to become an independent arts centre in 1979. If all that wasn't eventful enough, a fire ripped through the historic building in 2015, completely destroying the roof of the Grand Hall. Thankfully, the venue was re-launched back in 2018, having been lovingly restored. The Grand Hall is the venue's most impressive space, flooded with natural daylight and decorated with a stunning lattice ceiling. The venue now boasts an advanced technical capacity and AV infrastructure too. The event space even has its own private entrance into the adjoining Octagonal Hall with its stunning mosaic floors and a stained glass-domed ceiling, providing guests with the wow factor as they arrive. Perfect for companies with a creative flair, Battersea Arts Centre really is an out of the ordinary setting for a conference, dinner or awards show for up to 640 guests. says…
