With the country all warmed up for the World Cup, you may be interested in finding venues in London that are not only suitable for bringing your brand to life, but that can also promise a worthy World Cup screening for your guests.
After all, it is one of the rare events that excites and unites the whole nation… even if England never win!
Whatever the event, you can guarantee that including an element of World Cup festivities will delight your guests. So here are our best spots for a conference, drinks reception, networking event or celebration where guests can still immerse themselves in World Cup fever as an added treat. (And also some venues that are purely for enjoying the World Cup outside of a rowdy pub!)
Flat Iron Square
Is there a better football haven in central London than Flat Iron Square? You’ll be spoilt for choice with the bountiful selection of food vendors to help soak up the seemingly endless supply of beers, Pimm’s, G&Ts, or whatever your football tipple may be! The big screen, showing all the big games from Thursday 14th June to Saturday 14th of July, will be set up outside so you can soak up the summer sun. That could be wishful thinking in London! However fear not, our friends at Après London will have you covered (figuratively and literally) so any potential rain won’t be ruining the football fun.
With a vibrant outdoor ambience and eclectic choice of food all within a small radius, there aren’t many spaces in London that can compete during summer.
Landing Forty Two
If skylines and civilised screenings are more your cup of tea, Landing Forty Two is the first choice of London venues for you. They even hosted a rather spectacular event for the England opening game: guests kicked off the season in style with a delicious three course meal, pre and post-match drinks, unlimited wine, beer and softs, not to mention a genuine former professional footballer as host, and of course plenty of screens to catch the game. This venue would be perfect for a sky-high conference or celebration with a World Cup breakout space!
With some of the best panoramic views in the city and some shelter from the roar of the more die-hard football fans, this is the spot for the more refined supporter.
Skylight – Tobacco Dock
Are you looking for a rooftop venue to watch the World Cup? Preferably one with views of Wapping in the background? Perhaps with the option of playing pétanque or croquet? Then this is the venue for you! With indoor and outdoor screens, plus an impressive food selection, this is one of the finest alternative spots in London for World Cup viewings. Skylight is located above Tobacco Dock on the top two levels of a converted car park (like all the coolest venues these days).
With plenty of other options to keep your less football-concerned guests entertained, this venue is perfect for a more inclusive event for guests of all interests.
The Street Feast Gang
Our friends over at Street Feast have turned football fanatics and we couldn’t be more pleased! Between their Dinerama, Model Market and Giant Robot venues, if they’re open and there’s a game on, they’ll be showing it live – with the majority of the screenings being held at the Street Feast flagship, Dinerama. Each of these venues always supplies the best vibes, food and drinks so adding some live football in to the mix will make for a perfect night out! Catch the specifics of where each game will be shown here.
These landmark street food complexes, offer a number of spaces and a plethora of foods, in a vibrant surrounding that’s perfect for the more modern day World Cup viewing.
Fat Ronaldos – Kachette
Fear not east end hipsters, you can remain trendy whilst enjoying the football. This Old Street pop up bar (running from June 12th – July 13th) is housed within one of our favourite Shoreditch venues, Kachette. The event will be taking place across the venue’s two large archways and will be serving fresh cocktails and ice-cold beers accompanied by live DJs until 2am – ensuring every game has the potential to turn into a big night out, no matter what the results. Alongside all the drinks, Smokey Tails will be there to soak up the alcohol with their infamous authentic home-style BBQ flavours. Oh you can expect vintage reruns and face painters to get you in the mood too.
With a giant outdoor screen on the sunny terrace and six jumbo screens inside, this World Cup themed pop-up is sure to immerse guests in the golden era of football.
The Piano Works
The World Cup can be an emotional time. But whatever the result, The Piano Works will be there to help you celebrate or, perhaps more likely, sooth those football blues(!) with live music after every match. The game will kick off on the big screen, but the real action will take place behind the bar… You’ll never have been so happy to see a penalty card with their specials. Red Card means unlimited Budweiser for 3 hours with a burger and crinkle cut fries. Yellow Card: unlimited house wine for 3 hours with a burger and crinkle fries. Be sure not to miss a match with their full schedule of screenings here.
Voted one of the top cocktail bars in the UK, this venue is sure to score highly on the list of fan favourites.
Last Days of Shoreditch
The seasonal Old Street venue, Last Days of Shoreditch, is back in full swing with its beautiful summer edition and of course, they weren’t going to miss the trick with the World Cup. You can leave your spectacles at home for this one as their Enchanted Garden will be home to one of the biggest screens in London and will be showing an array of World Cup games, including all the England games! When the final whistle blows, you can relax and explore the gardens – from the tropical beach area, swinging hammock beds and tree-house, to the fountain and the specially commissioned sound installations, this venue has a lot to discover.
If you’re looking for more than a football screening, Last Days of Shoreditch will provide an immersive wonderland for you to explore.
Bounce Ping Pong
You’ll be dodging balls left, right and centre at this venue. Alongside all the usual Bounce shenanigans, in both locations you will find 12ft screens, special food deals, DJs before and after the games (as well as half time), World Cup disco each Saturday and if that wasn’t enough, you will also find a brass brand and singing section for each major game, not to mention half time shows and specialised pizza!
Note that each location is featuring certain countries; Farringdon will be featuring England, France, Australia and Germany, whilst Old Street will be featuring England, Spain, Poland and Brazil.
With huge 12ft screens and a massive space dedicated to the games, the atmosphere must be experienced to be believed!
Tucked away in the middle of Old Street Roundabout is a sneaky staircase that leads you to the beloved long standing pop-up of Magic Roundabout. For the world cup they are ensuring they have every corner of your night out covered; you can expect plenty of sunshine Soul, Reggae, Funk, Afro, Disco, burger and beer deals as well as loads of screen to enjoy the games! You will be able to watch all England games throughout the tournament with surround sound and all other matches minus the sound.
This unique venue won’t be around for long, so this could be your last chance to experience the magic.
