From the famous Trabi cars to the iconic Wall, Berlin is a stylish and ever-changing city that oozes history. Now known for its cool, laid back vibe as well as its bold murals and street art culture, this vibrant city is the perfect event location for creative brands.
From quirky boutique hotels for an incentive, to raw warehouse spaces for an annual conference in Germany, Berlin is crammed full of weird and wonderful locations to host an event. Here are some of our favourites… (not including Berghain, that’s a blog for another time).
This former machine factory was the first of its kind, making this historical area pretty famous in Berlin. Set in the heart of the capital’s downtown, Kalkcheune has 14 unique event spaces accommodating anything from 10 to 1,500 guests – each boasting state-of- the-art conference and presentation facilities. The Kalkscheune Function Room is in our opinion, the most charming space; featuring 19th century, industrial features and exposed brickwork, while the Gallery and the Loft have a cleaner, more contemporary feel to them. The venue also has an outdoor space with an Inner Courtyard which features a retractable canvas to protect guests from rain and if you look closely, you can see the remains of the stables where our four-legged friends powered the machines back in 1804!
Great cities are defined by their grandest boulevards and luckily for celebrity haven Hotel Zoo, it is located on the most prestigious avenue in West Germany. Dating back to 1891, Emmy-nominated interior designer Dayna Lee has since added elements of her contemporary style – taking this historical building and reinventing it into a modern-day New York style townhouse with all of the glamour and sass of the 1950’s. A home away from home, Hotel Zoo boasts an impressive restaurant, beautiful Berlin speakeasy, rooftop bar, expansive industrial windows, state-of-the-art technology and some of Berlin’s best event spaces with soaring ceilings,.
Formerly used as an industrial production hall, this unique warehouse is nestled away in Alten Kindl Brewery in the heart of Berlin. Full of charm, Vollgutlager has an industrious character with influences from the city’s creative underground scene. The Berlin event venue has a huge amount of flexibility making it ideal for creative conferences and quirky product launches. The Foyer has 150m2 of branding opportunities, while the Old Brewery Corridor leads underground with flickering neon lights to the Gallery, where a magnificent view opens up over the entire hall. The Main Room is a complete blank canvas, ideal for creative companies who want to bring their brand to life.
Another of Berlin’s best event venues is 030 Eventloft; a stylish and modern blank canvas event space that’s perfect for creative companies looking to bring their brand to life. The contemporary design of this loft-style venue works so well in combination with the industrial charm of the exposed brick walls – not to mention the white wash pillars provide the ideal backdrop for transforming the interior with branding. The loft is illuminated by natural light pouring in from the large industrious windows, which also lead out onto the beautiful terrace, providing a magnificent view of the Spree. Not forgetting the Capitol Yard Golf Lounge and 2C Spreequartier, which act as great breakout spaces .
Located off the beaten track lies ewerk, one of the most important buildings in Berlin’s industrial and cultural history. Originally constructed as a power station in the 19th century, today the building is an exclusive event space for creative companies who are looking for something completely out of the ordinary where they can really elevate their brand. From the raw and industrial interiors of Hall F & C to the stylish Skylounge which offers impressive views across Berlin’s stunning skyline, there’s a whole host of unique spaces which brands can utilise.
